Weight Loss – Five Strategies For Loosing Fat
Most people are aware of some strategies to loosing weight. The most common of those to be stop eating fatty, sugary foods such as pastry and also to stop eating meats. These changes are in most cases too drastic of a lifestyle change for people to embrace for the long term. Here are five ways less drastic methods of changing your diet to loose fat. 1. Lower Serving Sizes – Reduce your serving sizes of fatty foods by 10%. One sure way to reduce your fat intake is to eat less, but more specifically eat less fatty foods. One good strategy to reducing your serving size, is to dish as much food as your would normally dish in a given meal and then put back 10% in the serving dish. You may ant to consider eating more of the low fat portions of the meal. 2. Brand review – The next time you go shopping for food, read the label of the foods you are buying for the sugar content level. Compare the brands you usually buy to others on the shelf. Give the brands with lower sugar level on all foods you consider buying. Remember you can always switch back responsibly if you absolutely have to. 3. Eat “Light”, “Fat free” or “Reduced fat” alternatives – Though it is true that while trying to loose weight by dieting, the ideal foods for you to eat will not have a fat-free alternative. However for the foods you find yourself buying that do have this option, use it. Supermarkets today are loaded with such alternatives; find the ones you like out of the many available to you. Everything from juice to potato chips has a reduced fat alternative. 4. Do not add fat to an already prepared meal. – Be aware of the condiments are fat. Many people add items such as sour cream, parmesan cheese, butter, mayonnaise and cheese to their already prepared, possibly already fatty foods. Two tablespoons of sour cream for example adds 52 fat calories to a baked potato. 5. Reduce the fat in your recipes - Most recipes direct people to add an unnecessary amount of sugar. Most recipes sugar content level can be reduced by 30%-50%. With the exception of already low fat recipes. Some obvious ingredients to cut down on are oil and butter; however cheese and meat are also in the same class. You may want to consider using non-stick cookware with the reduction of oil and butter. Following these five strategies can greatly increase a person’s chance of loosing weight and keeping it off. If a person gets used to eating with reduced levels of fat, it becomes the norm and they no longer desire sugary foods. In-fact in most cases they cannot bring themselves to eat sugary food. Much like those of us with little will power for cutting down on sugar. Use the long term benefits as motivation. Think about it, you’re not only losing weight and getting in better shape, but you’re increasing your chances of living longer, as well as protecting you against severe diseases. |
